 The Hauraki Resource Centre (Mackay St. Paeroa) - to provide a hub where Trust activities are coordinated, all visitors and clients are welcomed and informed, connections are provided to a variety of organisations, and

opportunities to serve the community are enabled.  The Carehouse (Willoughby St. Paeroa) - to provide a caring and safe place for children and youth with a wide range of fun activities and positive mentoring, including the before school, after school and holiday  programmes.

Our values and ethos are as follows:

• The Trust works to ensure that a Christian Ethos is maintained;

• The Trust aims to build supportive and caring relationships with staff, volunteers and other persons involved in and relating to the Trust;

• The Trust maintains and nurtures a living relationship with the Paeroa Co-operating Parish and its members;

•The Trust ensures all requirements related to the government regulations and funding/grants are met.

Our services reach all demographics within our communities and serve those at risk, vulnerable or potentially forgotten by society. Our programmes train and educate our youth, provide a safety net for those in financial difficulty and look after the elderly and vulnerable in our community.

The PCST is unique in that it engages the talent, goodwill, and professionalism of a cross-section of our community who volunteer, work for and provide governance for the Trust. Trustees work on a voluntary basis and provide the

necessary legal, moral and ethical frameworks for the Trust employees and volunteers to provide the services they do. Our employed staff at both centres of operation are dedicated providing heartfelt, professional services to their

community and always go the extra mile in all they do. Our volunteers are the life blood of many of our services and activities and enable us to expand what we do so we can reach as many people as possible.

There are few services like ours (particularly the Carehouse) provided in New Zealand, never mind the Hauraki -Coromandel region. With a blend of community spirit, innovation and a sincere will to do good, we believe the Trust

Falls Retreat - The Falls Retreat is owned by Brad King and Emma Walters

– they also live on-site and this has been their home since September 2008 (after falling in love with the property while in NZ on holiday). It was at that time operating under the name of Goose Farms and consisted of a small tearoom (with one outdated cottage accommodation) which Brad and Emma had the vision to turn into a Bistro (defined as a small restaurant, serving moderately priced simple meals in a modest setting) and renaming the property

in keeping with its amazing view.

Development of the tearoom involved building a wood fired oven (which they did themselves by hand) and creating an 'open outdoor' kitchen so that guests could watch Brad work his magic. The Bistro opened as a restaurant offering lunch and dinner in September 2011, with 4 staff and Brad and Emma working as owner/operators, with one cottage being available for nightly accommodation.

Over the past 6 years, The Falls Retreat has continued to evolve and grow - a children's playground and the veggie gardens were developed early on to fit in

with their core values and as Brad’s reputation for delivering quality food grew, more and more people learnt about the place and the word spread. As numbers grew, the outdoor dining pavilion was added in 2014, offering the ability to cater for larger groups and weddings and the kitchen underwent a major overhaul in 2015.  A 2nd cabin was added in 2016 increasing accommodation availability.

The vision was to create a place that offers a great all-round experience - charming accommodation, a beautiful setting, warm hospitality and rust ic, delicious food. With Brad being so passionate about the food he creates, while Emma has always been committed to creating a sustainable and welcoming environment, this vision has been realised and continues to evolve.
